In 2020, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed legislation creating a New Mexico Public Regulation Commission Nominating Committee (NMSA 1978, Sec 62-19-4). This Committee, made up of seven appointed members, is tasked with providing the Governor with a minimum of five nominees to serve on a new, three-member appointed Commission beginning on January 1, 2023. This is a standing Committee and will continue to meet as necessary to fill vacant positions on the Commission.

This section of the Public Regulation Commission’s website will be dedicated to the work of the Committee. Public meeting notices, agendas, links to Committee meetings, application procedures, Commission candidate qualifications, and other information pertaining to the Committee can be found here.
